Tools Gallery

Below you will find pictures of some of the ritual tools I have made for myself and others. I make tools on order. The price will depend on the cost of materials used, time spent, etc. A handmade tool by a practising witch is always more powerful than a factory made one – provided she knows her Craft...

Never Underestimate…
I have been making ritual items for quite some time now, both for myself and others, and with great success. My first self-made wand -– which looked quite sweet and harmless -- was so powerful that somebody who touched it without permission ended up being very sick for six weeks. That wasn’t my intention but the wand obviously took offence and punished the trespasser! The wand was cut in a sacred way and contained a live tree spirit!

I very much enjoy making magickal items and will be happy to make a powerful ritual tool for you. If you want something specific, please contact me by e-mail to let me know what you have in mind.

Live Tree Spirit Wands
Any wands that I make are "live wands" that means they contain a living tree spirit. A live wand feels very different from a dead wand. It is also infinitely more powerful in healing and magick. The wand should be cut at the correct time of the day, moon phase, etcetera. One doesn’t just go and cut a branch off a tree, but the tree must call the magician and willingly give of itself. When a wand is cut in a sacred way so that it contains a tree spirit that resonates with the magician, it will be able to do much more powerful magick.

Wand Chooses Witch
A live wand ideally should be cut for the person who will later use it. Therefore I do not cut and make wands without knowing at least the name of the person they are intended for. Buying a wand that has not chosen to work with you can end with you losing the wand later, as it moves on to somebody else. Most commercial wands available as "magic wands" are actually dead wands and thus inferior for use in magick. The tree spirit that wishes to work with you will call me, so that I cut the wand that is the most beneficial for you. Whenever possible I will go by the moon tides as well, so I cannot just deliver in three days but will keep you informed of the progress. If there is a type of tree you like particularly you can let me know, and if it is your wish I will look for that kind of tree, but usually it is best to get the wand that is ready to work with you rather than being stuck on preconceived notions.

The Finish of the Wand
Some tree spirits want to keep their natural look, and their bark. Others want to be polished or shaped, sometimes they like to be painted or merged with a specific type of crystal. In this case the individual crystal being has to be asked also whether it will work with that wand. Mostly I follow what the tree spirit wants, because that way one can be assured of getting a great wand, even if it isn't symmetrical and "perfectly made" like commercial wands. Below are some examples of wands I made, as well as of some other ritual items I have crafted.

Green Serpent Healing Wand (picture)

The green serpent wand was cut from an evergreen oak tree. To get it I had to climb on a tree overhanging a cliff by the sea and was virtually “out on a limb”. It was quite dangerous getting the wand but when the spirits call... It has proven to be a very powerful healing wand.

This wand is black thorn -- of course it is a live wand containing a tree spirit! It was painted black and merged with a tectite crystal that resonates with it. It is a portal wand used to open or close portals to other dimensions.

The above wand is a holly wand. When I first cut it I wasn't clear about it what the wand was for. I let it dry and removed the bark. It was only later that the design and purpose of the wand was revealed to me. The wand wanted a sprial to be cut into it and the tip to be sharpened to a point. It is an anti-vampire wand. Sadly, vampirism is very common nowadays, and I will later write about this on the Magick Page.

Now this was my first self-made wand. At that time I didn't know how to glue on the crystals, so I crocheted a cover for the handle and the tip and fixed the crystals in that. I still have to smile when I think of it now! The wand, though looking so sweet and airy-fairy was quite feisty and defended itself against unwanted touch! it was cut from a kiwi tree which I had planted in my garden and which grew to an enormous size within a few years, astounding the villagers who used to gawk at it in front of my house - for it bore ample fruit! It has a small amethyst set in silver fixed to it, a pair of tantric pewter dragons which I painted myself in the elemental colours of fire and water, and a piece of abalone shell at the end. It has been wrapped with copper for better conduction of energy. It's probably the only crocheted wand in the world! Lol.

Black Serpent Wand: this is a rowan wand, which has been kept quite natural but with the design of a black serpent, which my friend had seen in her meditation after I cut the wand for her. A nice thin and smooth wand, perfect to use in magick. I'll try to  take a better picture of it later when the weather is sunny. Indoor photos never turn out so well.

Above: Probably the most controversial tool of magick: the ritual scourge!

This powerful ritual scourge contains a live wand of black thorn. The covering was made of stingray hide (of a non-protected farmed species). I don’t normally like to use animal parts that require the death of an animal, as I am a strict vegetarian. But sometimes it is necessary and the animal actually offers itself. The spirit of the stingray that gave its life to make this tool was honoured as part of the making of the ritual scourge, which is buzzing with energy. The scourge is dedicated to a Dragon Goddess.

A wheel of the year altar paten for seasonal celebrations (sabbats)

Each of the Goddess festivals has an assigned personal power animal, as well as related symbols, witches’ tools, and sacred plants. This was engraved by pyro-graphics on a quality disk of natural wood, painted with acrylic paints and sealed with clear lacquer for protection.
