Next Goddess Celebration: Samhain (Halloween):  30 October - 1 November 2008 Samhain is the most important Goddess celebration. The Goddess is in her dark aspect as the death crone on this celebration. On Samhain the veil between the spirit world and the world of man is very thin, so souls pass over easily, in either direction. This is the reason why there are always many births and deaths in this season. Samhain is a good time to commune with our ancestors, to call the spirits of those who have gone before us and give our thanks and blessings. It is a good magickal time for rituals of endings, for spirit contact, for personal transformation and for serious Underworld work. To understand Samhain we need to embrace death. Death doesn't need to be a scary thing, death is just a transition, a beginning as well as an ending, depending on which side of the veil you stand. To the wise, death is just an illusion. When we embrace death we gain greater power as magicians and as shamans. There is great magick and power in Samhain. It is my personal favourite Goddess celebration.
